If you’re in the US military, you can do your own taxes with a professional program — for free.

You should already know about your local Tax Assistance Office, likely through your base paper, where you can get one-on-one assistance with your tax preparation, all for free.

In case you don’t know about it, you can also file through H&R Block’s online version of its At Home® Tax Software — with free federal and three state e-filings — available at Military OneSource.

To access this free service, use the Military OneSource H&R Block At Home® link.  Your first step is to log in to Military OneSource (new users will need to create a Military OneSource account).  From there, you will be directed to a page with additional information on tax preparation, including a link to the Military OneSource H&R Block At Home® service.
