VA Adds Reproductive Organs to Traumatic Injury Payments

It has long been considered a wound so severe it’s often the first question troops ask after they’ve been hit.  Now the Veterans’ Administration is recognizing the value of that most valued of body parts (at least to the male psyche):

For males, the loss of one testicle would result in a $25,000 payment; of both, $50,000. The anatomical loss…a $50,000 payment.

Women would receive similar payments for damage to their sexual organs.  The payments mirror those made for other traumatic wounds.

Eligibility for the payments is retroactive to October 7, 2001.
