US Army Chaplain (LtCol) Steven Michalke has been sentenced by a civilian court to life in prison for molesting his daughter over a period of 10 years.

He has reportedly been turned over to the military where he may be tried under military law as well.

“This is without a doubt one of the worst cases of child molestation that I have seen in all my 30 years of doing this,” said Douglas County District Attorney David McDade. “He deserves to die in prison and let God deal with him after that.”

As recently as last year Michalke was the US Army Central Command Deputy Command Chaplain.
