Mikey Weinstein Credited with Electing Donald Trump
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, last week Charisma Magazine listed the “Five People Donald Trump Should Be Thankful for,” and coming in at #5 was an unusual pick: Michael “Mikey” Weinstein.
Really? [emphasis added]
5. Mikey Weinstein and the Freedom From Religion Foundation…
Relentless legal threats over the public expression of faith by Mikey Weinstein (of Military Religious Freedom Foundation), the ACLU and Freedom From Religion Foundation backfired when Americans raised their voices through their vote.
At least to some, it seems the constant attacks on religious freedom were a motivating factor for the electoral win by the anti-establishment, maverick-style Trump [emphasis added]:
Trump spoke directly to the concerns of blue-collar families who have seen an assault on their Christian faith backed by the force of government in recent years. The hit independent film God’s Not Dead reflected this same theme, based in part on true stories rarely reported in mainstream media outlets.
There was Atlanta fire chief Kelvin Cochran, fired for writing a men’s Bible study; Catholic nuns who fought the Obama administration for refusing to cover birth control in health care plans; an Oregon family fined $135,000 for recommending a same-sex couple use another bakery; and the list goes on. Without the attack on faith, many voters would not have been as motivated.
It’s an interesting proposition, but its unclear how strong that would have been as an individual motivation. For example, the pro-life movement has been around for decades, but that hasn’t prevented candidates from being elected who supported abortion. Still, recency may account for an added ember to the fire.
In their defense, Donald Trump did make religious liberty — in particular, military religious freedom — a clear focus of his campaign.
This would be the second time Mikey Weinstein was associated with Donald Trump; he was previously compared to a “left-wing version of Donald Trump“.
While he has substantially less hair, Mikey Weinstein does share a couple of traits with Donald Trump.
Like Donald Trump, Mikey Weinstein turned his passion into a [small] fortune.
And like Donald Trump, a lot of people think Mikey Weinstein is a bigot.

I think that article is dead on. Millions of voters knew that Hillary Clinton would not allow Christians to have their religious rights. With the available evidence, it is highly likely that Hillary would openly proclaim to Christians- conservative Christians in particular- that their faith had to be checked the moment they left their homes or chapels.
Weiner-stein, the Anti-Christian Lawyers Union, and the Fascist Atheist Foundation (that calls itself Freedom from Religion Foundation) DID have a big hand in getting the better candidate elected.
I wonder if former soldiers would like to find Weinstein after they get out of the military and break his back or his face or both
@Dennis Richardson
There are probably a few people in and out of the military who feel that way. Fortunately, most people are mature enough that it is little more than a passing thought.
Of course, Mikey Weinstein himself has said he’d like to beat up a couple of veterans, with a baseball bat, no less. Funny how he’s the one always complaining about threats given he doesn’t seem to mind making them himself.
