US Servicemembers Serve Orphans
As has been routinely noted, members of the US military frequently sacrifice even their scarce free time to serve those less fortunate around the world.
A group of Sailors and Marines helped the Bethany Orphanage in Albania, a trip coordinated by Navy Chaplains (Lt) Jeff Augustin and William Gritton. In fact, more than twice as many volunteered for the community support event as could be accommodated.
Marines and Sailors in Romania teamed with United Hands Romania to serve 250 orphans in three different locations.
Airmen at Charleston Air Force Base volunteered to serve at Eagle Harbor Ranch in South Carolina, which shelter boys who were orphaned or abused. The Ammo flight has hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for the boys and even individually mentors those at the shelter.
