US Army SPC Jesse Thorsen (previously incorrectly identified as a Corporal) has been given a Letter of Reprimand for appearing at a Ron Paul rally in uniform and giving a glowing endorsement.

The Army determined that Jesse D. Thorsen violated policies that bar soldiers from participating in political events in their official capacities or while in uniform.

Some have noted the relatively “light” punishment is stark in contrast to the discharge board to which Marine SGT Gary Stein was subjected on Saturday.  The results of that board have not been released.
