Airman Invites Tim Tebow to Military Ball
In the near-tradition of Justin Timberlake, Mila Kunis, and, yes, even Betty White, a member of the military has taken to YouTube to invite Tim Tebow to her first Military Ball.
On Feb. 5, Senior Airman Jamie Walden enlisted the help of friends and co-workers at Barksdale Air Force Base, La., to make a video to convince the Denver Broncos quarterback to come with her to a military ball in April in Shreveport, La. Within a couple of weeks, the video has almost 200,000 hits and attention from around the country has focused on the aviation resource management airman.
The video now has more than 500,000 views.
While various celebrities have been asked for many reasons, Tebow may be the first to be invited so explicitly for his character:
Walden…said she wanted to invite Tebow because of what he does off the field — his sense of service and putting others before himself. He mirrors the Air Force’s core values, she said.
The video even features Walden’s mom encouraging Tebow to “say yes.”
As an aside, just prior to the Patriots/Broncos football game, a pithy quote circulated noting Tom Brady was the man every boy wanted to grow up to be — while Tim Tebow was the man every boy’s mom wanted them to grow up to be.
