Kind of silly, he should get a dishonorable discharge though.
You have to be some kind of moron to hand out Christian propaganda in Iraq.
There is only one thing I hate more than some fanatical Muslim, its some fanatical Christian trying to shove equally unbelievable religious dribble down my throat.
I suppose he must have felt guilty, wondered where he would spend eternity for all the people he killed, and attempted to redeem himself by passing out coins, LOL.
Congratulations to this idiot for likely making the local population even more leery of the “occupiers” than they already were.
Just for the record, I have used Christian bibles for target practice before, and I even rolled a marijuana cigarette with the pages before,
Screw you Muslims, Christians, Jews, and everyone else.
Stop hiding behind your religions, and using them to justify personal agendas.
God created man in his own image, therefore god created Muslims, Jews, and Christians in his own image.
The truth is all religions are probably a little off base or completely wrong. Each religion thinks they are the “right” one, each thinks god is on there side. The most logical conclusion is that you are all wrong.
If you want to be fair about it, and let the majority rule, watch out, soon islam will surpass christianity as the largest religious group. Not counting the fact that all Christians are not the same, or share the same beliefs.
I think it’s digusting he was doing this, and am happy he has been removed. Pretty sick being a sniper and then thinking it’s all good with god since he’s passing out coins! Typical hypocrite christian.
Something about this doesn’t sound right. The U.S. had better be VERY careful in tampering with people’s lives in which their religion is the bed-rock of their culture. U.S. culture is not religion based (regardless of our false advertisements to the effect). We were warned long ago about attempting to force Christianity on other people when we aren’t a very good steward of it ourselves – but we’re a hard headed nation.
What on heaven’s name was this Marine doing with such coins there anyway? Is he a deeply avowed Christian? I’ve not seen such coins myself so if he had a number of them passing them about, others must have had knowledge of what he had and what he was doing with them. Marines are NOT stupid (especially in a war environment) and there’s more to this story than what we’re being told.
It is comforting to know that this man has both the wisdom and the fortitude to overcome the stereotypes and hostility of both the violent radicals on the one hand and his own sneering countrymen on the other to share even a hint of the Gospel message. Where is such uncommon valor in our times? Radical Islam, threatening to baptize every infidel in fire and blood- spreading their religion by the sword- rounding up and killing or jailing any other religion that would compete with their devilish hatred- and yet this one man is willing to risk his life, career and a host of public mockery to pass out a coin with one question and one bible verse on it?
What do you people fear? That your conscience has once again risen up from its slumber and stung you like a scorpion? That this aspect of your being that you most surely would cut off from influence upon your life has affirmed this man’s behavior as right? And all the while you are at war within your own heart there is a side of you that knows that this man had courage to do what is right and you did not? So to silence the roar of your own conscience you would smear this man or side with the multitude that would mock him?
Understand that this man understands something you have been pressing back into your minds for years; that death is coming to all of us. And when death comes, what then? It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment. Every one of us will give an account of himself/herself to God. Will not the man that sought to share the love of God with a people that are brainwashed and tormented by a fearful religion be thankful if they had rightly responded to that message? But perhaps if I might touch upon the question that resonates in every persons heart when they heart it; yes, disturbing their peace and robing them of sleep- “Where will YOU spend eternity?” All the jeering and mocking in the world will not slow the momentum of that one question. It carries all of us before it.
I hardly think that a man giving out a coin with God’s Word on it could be considered “forcing” religion upon someone. While it could be said many in the country he is serving are forcing their beliefs on others, the sword he is holding is not one made of steel but one much greater. It would appear this marine is not only willing to lay down his life for the freedom of you and I, but also those who despise him. Jesus Christ is the only hope of the world, denying it doesn’t change it.
I bet they don’t have an issue with receiving US $ that say “In God We Trust.”
