Buddhist Monk Joins US Air Force

Moody AFB published an interesting article about A1C Kornkawee Rue Art, who started out life as a Thai Buddhist monk until an encounter with an old friend inspired him to join the US Air Force. Ironically, the meeting occurred when he was on a missionary trip — to the US:

In Thailand, a monk is one who studies Buddhism, practices in its ways, follows the rules of and lives at the temple. Moody AFB Supports Habitat for Humanity

Moody Air Force Base recently published a heartwarming article detailing how Moody’s Airmen helped build a house in the local community:

Volunteers from the local community came out to build frames, pound nails, secure siding and much more over the weekend, but Moody showed up in full force.

Air Force Hosts Diversity Day for Holocaust Remembrance & Sexual Immorality

Moody Air Force Base recently sponsored a “diversity day” to celebrate women’s equality, Asian American and Pacific Islander month, LGBT pride, and, unconventionally, they included Holocaust remembrance in this “celebration”.

US Air Force Advocates for Transgender Lifestyle in Children

lauraperrytransMoody Air Force Base recently “celebrated” a “Diversity Day” that included a transgender veteran, retired USAF Major Leonard Perry, speaking about his lifestyle, as he now lives as a woman named Laura:

“[Gender dysphoria] is a medical condition. They’ve tried therapies and other treatments for it, but none of that has really worked. What they’ve found is transitioning to the identified gender is the only treatment that has consistently solved the dysphoria.”

(Perry was previously profiled by the Air Force for no reason other than his sexual lifestyle.)

Air Force Atheist Ponders Spiritual Fitness, Officially

An official article by Moody Air Force Base’s Public Affairs Senior Airman Jarrod Grammel is entitled “Atheist ponders spiritual fitness.”

A-10 Crashes in Georgia

An A-10C Warthog crashed in Georgia Monday afternoon.  The pilot ejected and was being evaluated at Moody Air Force Base’s medical facilities.

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. — An Air Force A-10C pilot assigned to the 23rd Wing ejected from an aircraft during a routine mission at approximately 2:45 p.m. today in a non-residential area northeast of Berlin, Ga., in Cook County.

Update: The pilot was released with minor injuries.  Public Affairs has posted pictures of the crash site.
