Retired LtCol Richard “Dick” Cole, the co-pilot to Jimmy Doolittle and last surviving member of the raid, died yesterday at the age of 103.

The story was reported yesterday by the NWF Daily News before being picked up by the larger media this morning.

The men who flew the Doolittle Raid left a humble legacy of sacrifice. Would that men and women today follow that example.
