Sailors onboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz did take the time to celebrate Christmas along with their families while in port.

March Air Reserve Base hosted Santa — but he was there only for the “holiday.” Fort Riley hosted Operation Santa Claus — and “Christmas” was only mentioned once, as the last word in the press release.

Soldiers of the 130th Engineering Brigade Command Team participated in a “Christmas ruck” to “celebrate Christmas and get everybody in a good mood.”

The 1st Infantry Division Band performed a “holiday” concert which did include “traditional” Christmas songs, though the press release, for some reason, doesn’t mention them — noting instead that the band played “old classics like “Someday at Christmas” by Stevie Wonder to big rock orchestra songs like “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.”
