Breaking: US Military Officially Delays Transgender Enlistment

Update: Now at FoxNews, Stars and Stripes, and CNN.  Ashley Broadway’s activist AMPA is now actively seeking personal interest transgender stories to advance its cause.

In a brief press release, the US Department of Defense has officially delayed “accessing transgender applicants” — that is, enlisting people who describe themselves as transgender — until January 2018.

The second sentence of the two-sentence release contains some insight into why the delay is occurring:

The services will review their accession plans and provide input on the impact to the readiness and lethality of our forces.

In other words, the impact to the US military’s “readiness and lethality” is still in question, should transgendered individuals be allowed to join.

The announcement does not affect those already serving.

Multiple groups have called on President Trump and his administration to delay or even reverse the military’s progressive sexual policies enacted in the last few years.  Religious groups, too, have decried the trampling of both religious and civil rights portended by the placement of priority on sexual “rights.”
