US Soldier Dedicates Life to God and Country

US Army SSgt Christal Crawford is deployed to Jordan, and it is there she chose to re-dedicate her life to her country — and to her God.

With tears in her eyes, [she] walked down the steps leading to the Jordan River at the baptism site of Jesus to change into her robe…

“I never imagined when I was younger that I would get to experience being baptized in the same river as the Lord and where my faith was born.” said Crawford.

A few hours later, Crawford stood across from the USARCENT contingency command post tactical operations center she helped construct, raised her right hand, and reenlisted into the U.S. Army.

Service in the US military — service to the United States of America — provides a unique opportunity to see and experience amazing things. It also gives US troops the opportunity to exercise and express their faith — like being baptized in the Jordan for all the world to see.

Wherever you are, and whatever you do, you truly are an ambassador for Christ in uniform — and a government-paid missionary.
