Army Chief of Chaplains on PBS Documentary (Video)
Martin Doblmeier recently produced a PBS documentary simply called CHAPLAINS. The 2-hour film covers chaplains in a variety of settings, from prison to NASCAR, and includes a segment on then-US Army Chaplain (Col) Paul Hurley, who was leading all US chaplains in Afghanistan at the time:
As well as being on PBS, the documentary is available for sale on the movie’s website.
Chaplain Hurley has since been promoted to Major General and is now the Army Chief of Chaplains, placing him in charge of all US Army chaplains.
It is interesting to note that while there is reportedly a shortage of Catholic chaplains within the US military, Chaplain Hurley and his predecessor, Chaplain (MajGen) Donald Rutherford, are both Catholic priests.
Repeated at the Stars and Stripes.
