US Flies Rainbow Flag over Israel
FoxNews reported that the US embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, raised a rainbow flag immediately below Old Glory.
As many know, the rainbow was a symbol of God’s promise to man that He would not again destroy the earth by flood — something He did after the world’s sin and debauchery brought about its destruction by water. So the rainbow flag is an excellent reminder of God’s promise.
Of course, that’s not what the embassy meant — and there no doubt would have been outcry had that religious message been intended. Instead, Ambassador Dan Shapiro said:
We are proud to join with the municipality of Tel Aviv-Yafo and its residents in celebrating LGBT Pride Week.
Ironically, it was noted that Israel is the only country in the Middle East in which the US could do such a thing and not invite violence. Todd Starnes noted [emphasis added]:
So the Obama Administration publicly endorses and affirms the gay rights movement. Meanwhile, American military personnel are being ordered to remove Bibles from their desks and Bible verses from their walls — lest they be accused of publicly endorsing or affirming Christianity.
Some might call that a double-standard.
For the record, the US military raised the rainbow flag in Afghanistan more than two years ago. It resulted in an investigation…with no known outcome. The US military today also “celebrates” sexuality with the rainbow.
