Arizona National Guard Chaplains Tour Mormon Temple

Chaplain (Capt) Jonathan Harrop, endorsed by the LDS, recently helped 14 members of the Arizona National Guard chaplain staff visit a Mormon Temple — relatively rarely seen, since they are not often open to the public:

While LDS church buildings are always open to the general public, LDS Temples are only open to the public for a brief period before they are dedicated making this a unique opportunity for the chaplains…

The Arizona Guard’s senior chaplain, Chaplain (Col) Elmon Krupnik, indicated the tour would help chaplains — who serve all, regardless of faith — better understand LDS troops.

While the LDS faith has substantial differences with traditional Protestant Christianity (including the concept surrounding their temples), Mormon chaplains in the military are simply “Protestant Christians.”
