A DoD article highlights country music star Toby Keith’s USO performance given to an Army base in Kuwait.

Keith performed such hits as “American Ride,” “Let’s Get Drunk and Be Somebody,” and “Red Solo Cup” to a crowd starved of Americana.

The USO said it was Toby Keith’s 189th USO show: 

Keith has done nine USO tours, beginning in 2002, performing for service members in Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, Bahrain, Belgium, Cuba, Djibouti, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Cuba, and Kyrgyzstan, according to website.

As Keith’s frequent tours show, the US military frequently plays host to a wide variety of popular acts.  And yet people still claim religious events get some kind of favoritism.

Actually, somebody will probably claim country music is, by definition, “religious”…
