Homosexual Advocacy Group Defends Bigamy Law

In an interesting twist, the homosexual advocacy group GLAD is defending a Massachusetts law that says you can only be married to (or in a “civil union” with) one person at a time.  Their logic is fascinating:

It has always been the law of the Commonwealth that a person may only have one spouse at a time,” says GLAD Senior Staff Attorney Karen Loewy…“This is a straightforward case of applying long-established principles to the legal relationships of same-sex couples, just as they apply to different-sex couples.”

It seems like most homosexual advocates recently eschewed “its the law, and its always been the law.”  Think GLAD will defend DOMA, since “it has always been the law” in the United States and it is a “long-established principle” that a marriage can only consist of two people of opposite gender?
